- Username (handle)
- The unique name that identifies an account on a social platform, usually written with an @ in front — for example @orbit. On most platforms the username also forms the profile URL.
- OG username
- An “original” username: short, clean and usually registered in a platform's early days. OG usernames are typically real words, very short letter combinations or simple numbers.
- 3L handle
- A three-letter username such as @sky. Only 17,576 combinations of three Latin letters exist (26³), and almost all of them were claimed years ago, which makes 3L handles among the rarest online.
- 4L handle
- A four-letter username such as @wave. There are 456,976 possible four-letter combinations, but only a small fraction are pronounceable words, which are the most valuable.
- Generic-word username
- A username that is a real dictionary word, like @summit or @velvet. Generic words are memorable, easy to spell and work for any brand, which makes them the most sought-after handles.
- Brandable username
- An invented, non-generic name that is short and pronounceable — like @zentro — with no existing meaning, so a brand can own it completely.
- Numeric username
- A username made only of digits, such as @777 or @2026. Numbers read the same in every language; repeating and meaningful numbers are especially collectible.
- Rare letters
- Short letter combinations that are not words, such as @qxo. Their value comes from shortness and scarcity rather than meaning.
- Handle transfer
- The process of moving a username from the account that holds it to the buyer's account. At Outv this happens in a live session so the name is never left unclaimed.
- History check
- A review of a username's past: previous bans, policy strikes, impersonation reports and ownership. Outv runs a history check on every handle before listing it.
- Two-factor authentication (2FA)
- An extra login step, such as a code from an authenticator app, that protects an account even if the password leaks. Enabling 2FA is the first thing to do after receiving a new handle.
- Collectible username
- A username treated as a tradable digital asset. On Telegram, some short usernames are issued as collectibles that can be assigned to accounts, channels or groups.
- Username value
- The price a handle can command, driven mainly by length, whether it is a real word, platform, pronunciation, cross-platform availability and demand.
- Cross-platform handle
- The same username secured on several platforms — for example @orbit on Instagram, TikTok and X — so a brand is easy to find everywhere.
